Elevator Access and Fire LLC
an Anchorage AK based elevator consulting and assistive company founded by retired elevator inspector Curt Burgoyne. Curt has been a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) since 2007 and has worked as an inspector for the Municipality of Anchorage for nearly 20 years.
Our goals at Elevator Access and Fire are to provide objective analysis and guidance for building owners/managers where elevators are present.
The services we offer are:
1) To Provide safe and legal access to restricted spaces above and under elevator equipment for periodic maintenance, testing and repair of building systems in the hoistway, such as but not limited to sprinklers, fire alarm initiating devices, heaters, ventilation, and sump equipment.
2)To provide explanation of and guidance for correcting deficiencies noted by Municipal and State Elevator Inspectors.
3)To help building owners/managers determine if contractor proposals are relevant to and justifiable for the needs and wishes they have for the elevator.
4)To help building owners/managers comply with retroactive elevator related Fire Codes in a cost-effective manner. Currently that is a requirement for a specific Knox box mounted near each elevator with a specific set of keys for the elevator(s). See local amendment to the International Fire Code(IFC) in AO No. 2020-85 Section 23.45.606.7. Find it hereā¦ao 2020-085 as amended.pdf (muni.org) (it is on page 135 of 233)
